Volkswagen Get back on the Bus Concept Campaign

Volkswagen is known for some of the most iconic ads of the 20th century. They’re also some of my favorites. Maybe it’s because I grew up around them — my mom’s favorite car is the Volkswagen Beetle, and my house is decorated with miniature replicas of the car as well as framed vintage ad prints. Early VW Beetle ads were clever, sharp, and witty, but in recent years the company’s creative output has fallen flat. With the release of their new electric vehicle, I thought it suitable to pay homage to the past while signaling a path forward. The car made famous by hippies and Roadtrippers in the ‘60s may now be far and few between, but a vehicle of that caliber still exists — it just looks a bit different now.
